Tarangire National Park, slightly off the main safari route in Northern Tanzania, is a peaceful and beautiful park known for its impressive elephant migration, rich birdlife, and authentic safari experience. Many travelers either skip Tarangire or visit for only a few hours, leaving much of the park untouched and waiting to be explored.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a morning walking safari and game drive. Your guide will prepare a hot lunch with refreshing soft drinks, and afterward, you’ll head to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Lake Manyara is an ideal introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife, with over 400 species recorded. Even first-time visitors to Africa can expect to spot around 100 species in just one day. Beyond the floodplain, the acacia woodlands are home to Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions and large, tusked elephants, making it a truly remarkable wildlife experience.
After breakfast, depart for Lake Natron, with stops along the way to visit the Engaruka Ruins, take a lake walk, explore nearby waterfalls, and visit a local village. A hot lunch will be provided before continuing to your evening stay at the lodge.
The East African Halophytics region includes two saline lakes located in Tanzania along the Great Rift Valley. These lakes present a harsh environment for most plants and animals due to their high salinity, extremely hot temperatures, and rapid changes in salinity following rainfall. However, they are home to large flocks of both lesser and greater flamingos, which breed on the surrounding mudflats.
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a hot lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive in the central Serengeti. In the evening, check in at the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Even when the migration is not active, the Serengeti still provides some of the most thrilling game-viewing in Africa. You’ll encounter vast herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephants and giraffes, and countless eland, topi, kongoni, impalas, and Grant’s gazelles. Discover the diverse habitats, from swamps and woodlands to soda lakes and the iconic Serengeti short grass plains.
Witness the impressive herds of wildebeest and zebras, and during the brief calving season around February—lasting about three weeks—you’ll see the newborn wildebeest. With little cover in the grasslands, the young calves are vulnerable to predators. However, they can run shortly after birth and usually gain enough strength to keep up with the herd within three days.
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a morning game drive in the heart of the Serengeti. Your guide will provide a hot meal for lunch during the excursion. In the evening, return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Imagine witnessing a million wildebeest, all driven by the same ancient instinct, participating in the grand cycle of life. These majestic animals engage in a frenzied three-week period of territorial disputes and mating. They face the daunting challenge of crossing crocodile-infested waters during their annual migration north, moving in columns that stretch up to 40 kilometers (25 miles). This pilgrimage leads to a brief yet explosive population boom, with over 8,000 calves born each day before the 1,000-kilometer (600-mile) journey begins anew.
After breakfast, depart from the Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro for a full day of game viewing in the crater. Your guide will set up a table for a delicious hot lunch during the day. Continue with an afternoon game drive, then head back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ngorongoro’s crown jewel is its stunning volcanic crater, the largest unfilled and intact caldera in the world. Spanning about 20 kilometers across, 600 meters deep, and covering 300 square kilometers, the Ngorongoro Crater is a spectacular natural marvel. During your visit, we’ll explore Lake Magadi, a large, shallow alkaline lake located in the southwest of the crater. This lake is a prime spot for observing a variety of wildlife, including large flocks of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds.
After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Eyasi for a fascinating tour with the Hadzabe bushmen, complete with a hearty lunch. In the evening, check in to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
The Hadzabe, a small group of bushmen living around Lake Eyasi, speak a language similar to the click languages of other bushmen in the Kalahari further south.
Start your day with an early morning hunting experience with the Bushmen. Afterward, return to the lodge for breakfast before departing for Arusha. On the way back, we’ll stop for lunch. You’ll arrive in Arusha in time for drop-off.
