Places to Visit
Tarangire national park, Lake Manyara national park, Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro Crater
After your safari briefing, you’ll depart from your hotel in Arusha Town and travel 130 kilometers along the tarmac road to Lake Manyara National Park. The lake, which dominates a large portion of the park, is bordered by lush forest that begins just after you pass through the park gate, nestled along the base of the Great Rift Valley. The park’s hot springs are situated to the west.
Lake Manyara is renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions and is also home to a variety of wildlife including buffalo, giraffe, hippo, baboons, flamingos, ostriches, and geese. After enjoying a picnic lunch, you’ll embark on an afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to the Panorama Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, set out towards Serengeti National Park, traveling through the stunning highlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As you leave the highlands behind, you’ll descend into the vast plains of the Serengeti, where the landscape stretches endlessly before you. Arrive in the central Serengeti, known as the Seronera area, which is one of the park’s most abundant wildlife habitats. The Seronera River, a crucial water source, attracts a diverse range of wildlife, representing many of the Serengeti’s species.
Arrive in time for lunch, then embark on an afternoon game drive to explore the rich wildlife. Return to the Seronera Campsite for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, start your day with an early morning game drive along the Sogore River circuit, which winds through the plains south of the Seronera River. This area is excellent for spotting a variety of wildlife, including lions, gazelles, topis, ostriches, and cheetahs.
Following your game drive, consider visiting the Visitor Center near the Serengeti Seronera Lodge and public campsites. This well-designed center features engaging wildlife exhibits and a gift shop where you can pick up informational leaflets and maps of the area.
In the afternoon, take a drive along the Kopjes circuit, heading counterclockwise around the Maasai Kopjes. This route offers opportunities to see more lions and potentially encounter some impressive large cobras.
Finish your day with dinner and an overnight stay at the Seronera Camp.
After breakfast, head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, make a stop at Olduvai Gorge, a site with a rich history that dates back to the origins of humanity.
Arrive at the lodge in time for lunch, then embark on a half-day safari tour as you descend over 600 meters into the crater to observe its diverse wildlife. In the evening, enjoy dinner and spend the night at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.
Your day will begin at 7:00 AM with an exciting game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Thanks to the crater’s towering walls (about 2,000 feet high), few animals migrate in or out, allowing for exceptional wildlife viewing. You can look forward to spotting lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, a variety of birds, and many other species. Your driver-guide will stay in touch with fellow safari drivers to help locate even the most elusive animals, showcasing his expertise. After a picnic lunch and additional exploration of the crater, we will head to the Lilac Campsite for dinner and an overnight stay.
After enjoying breakfast at the camp, you’ll set out early for Tarangire National Park, the third largest park in Tanzania. Known for its iconic baobab trees and impressive herds of elephants, Tarangire is a wildlife haven. The park’s year-round Tarangire River provides a vital source of water, attracting a variety of predators and their prey. You’ll have the opportunity to observe these incredible animals as they gather around the river before returning to Arusha in the evening.
